PINBLASTER for Stern SPIKE2

How to install

F.A.Q.

In the pinball machine audio menu, we recommend to:

  • keep the default settings to 8 Ohms
  • keep the default “high/low shelf (def)” setting.
  1. You’ll need a RCA to RCA cable
  2. Connect the cable onto the Subwoofer OUT RCA connectors (on the PINBLASTER board)
  3. Connect the cable to your external subwoofer
  4. Adjust individual subwoofer gain to your preference

A maximum of six machines is recommended for optimal performance, but the system is fully compatible with fewer machines as well.

  1. You’ll need RCA to Jack 3.5 cable(s)
  2. Connect a cable to the first PINBLASTER board onto the Subwoofer OUT RCA connectors.
  3. Run this cable to the next adjacent machine and connect the Jack 3.5mm stereo into the Subwoofer IN input.
  4. Repeat with the next machine (if needed)
  5. On the last pinball machine of the chain, connect the RCA OUT to the external subwoofer
  6. Adjust individual subwoofer gains to your preference.

  • Starting the Connection: Use the RCA line-out available on your PLUS sound board as the initial point of the external subwoofer daisy-chain.
  • Connect a Ground Loop Isolator: Place a ground loop isolator between the PLUS sound board and the first PINBLASTER in the chain. This is mandatory to protect the integrity of the daisy-chain signal and the connected boards.
  • Extending the Chain: To add more PINBLASTER boards to the daisy-chain, simply use a standard stereo RCA-to-jack 3.5 cable for each subsequent connection (no ground loop isolator needed)

The following machines equipped with a first SPIKE2 CPU (6 pins on their CN5 connector instead of 7 pins) require a specific switch setting.
